Based on the novel by Kingsley Amis, Stanley and the Women is a 1991 four-part British drama (with 50-minute episodes) starring John Thaw (Inspector Morse, Kavanagh QC, A Year in Provence) as Stanley Duke, an advertising editor with a local newspaper. From the title and cover photo, one could be forgiven for thinking the show is about Stanley's trouble with women.
