Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Fully aware of its status as the sequel to the surprise hit thriller of 1996, this lively follow-up trades freshness for familiarity, playing on our affection for returning characters while obeying--and then subverting--the 'rules' of sequels. Once again, movie references are cleverly employed to draw us into the story, which takes place two years after the events of Scream, at a small Ohio college, where the Scream survivors reunite when another series of mysterious killings begins. Capitalizing on the guesswork involving a host of potential suspects, director Wes Craven and screenwriter Kevin Williamson have crafted a thriller that's more of a Scream clone than a genuinely inventive new story. But the shocks are just as effective, and escalating tension leads to a tautly staged climax that's simultaneously logical and giddily over the top. Background information for trivia buffs: to preserve the secrecy of plot twists, copies of the screenplay were heavily guarded during production and restricted to only the most crucial personnel. When an early draft was circulated on the Internet, screenwriter Kevin Williamson did rewrites, and subsequent drafts were printed with red ink on brown paper, eliminating the threat of photocopying. None of the cast members knew who the killer was until the final scenes were filmed! --Jeff Shannon

Rating: - Love this movie! Smart, sexy, scary, and funny!
I was a huge fan of the original, "Scream." I already owned the vhs tape of both "Scream" and "Scream 2," but I wanted the dvd collector's series instead. I love the movies. I watch them on my Imac computer, and the widescreen does not look good. The picture shows up really small on my 20 inch screen; it is very annoying...just something to keep in mind.
Rating: - Scream II
I purchased this film for use in a Halloween Week Movie Extravaganza. Adult viewers (20+ y.o.) of all ages found this film entertaining, funny, satirical, and interesting. Older folks did not like the strong graphic violence but this was off-set by the challenging "who is the murderer?" puzzle presented in the film. The casting is excellent. The actors line up nicely with the stereotypical characters of the story. The only thing I would change would be to use the alternative scene involving ... Read More
Rating: - Great Purchase
Got the movie in excellent condition. A little later than expected but Amazon took care of the confusion right away. Thanks Amazon
Rating: - A nice follow up.
Scream 2 continues the path of mayhem leading to an ending that is somewhat predictable. Even though it's more of a rehash from the first one. It's a rehash done right. I liked the way this one worked out.
Scream 2 utilizes the "whodunit" pretty well. But I don't think it was done better than the first one. The cast was a pretty nice pick but I never thought Jada Pinketts and Omar Epps talents would have been used so miserably. But Jada's death scene made more of an impact then everyone ... Read More
Rating: - Keep On Screaming
Scream 2 is on a par to its predecessor. Its as scary as part one and dialouge is more witty. The cast members are also eye candies to viewers. Even I was actually quite surprised when I noticed Rebecca Gayheart, Heather Graham, Jada Pinkett and Sarah Michelle Gellar have small roles in the movie.
The story continues as another killing strikes again after the horrific events in part one. All the 3 main characters have grown to a more serious and the writers put a more in depth personality ... Read More
