Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Undoubtedly the first movie in history to have played in theaters with three different endings (depending on which theater you attended), Clue is a silly whodunit based on the familiar board game featuring Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, and all the other usual suspects. A broadly comic cast play the sundry suspects gathered in a mansion to solve a murder, knowing that one of their numbers is the culprit. Michael McKean, Eileen Brennan, and Tim Curry are the best of the bunch, and the film is as lightweight an experience as a round of the game itself. Directed by Jonathan Lynn (My Cousin Vinny). The video release contains all three endings. --Tom Keogh

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Funny "who done it"? with several twists
If you like the boardgame, this is a must. The characters, are truly "characters" and they'll make you snicker countless times. It's a classic "who done it" fun ride until the end. It has a classic "theater" feel, and the characters are what old "Sherlock Holmes" type films are made of. Neat film with cool performences!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - 'It's Not Just A Game...Anymore'!!!
I think Clue: The Movie is really funny and a good adaptation of the classic board game. I love that it all takes place on a dark and stormy night. All the actors did a really good job. Mr. Green, Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, Mrs. White, and Mrs. Peacock all receive a letter to come to Hill House. Wadsworth the Butler greets them and lets them all get to know each other. During dinner, Mr. Boddy shows up and claims he doesn't know what he's doing there. After dinner, Wadsworth lets ... Quite possibly one of the best ensemble pieces ever, `Clue' is one of my favorite comedies of all time. It perfectly captures the essence of the beloved board game in a hilarious romp of whodunits that keeps the audience guessing (and laughing) until the very end.

It's very true that `Clue' could have gone one of two ways. It could have been a very intricate murder mystery (I'm thinking Agatha Christie inspired) or it could have been a fast paced comedy. You guessed it; they went to comedy ... Read More

This movie did not do well when it was 1st released, but it eventually gathered a cult following. The story is basically this...Mr. Body's butler Wadsworth (Tim Curry), invites several blackmail victims of Mr. Body to supper in hopes of ending Body's blackmail scheme. (Tim Curry also has a personal grudge in that he blames the suicide of his wife on Mr. Body.) To make a long story short, Mr. Body tries to get Tim Curry killed, but things go wrong, and Mr. Body himself is killed. The 6 guests and Tim Curry ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Underated and Overlooked Movie
Having intially picked this movie at a great price, I was very pleasently surprised at the quality of the movie.I was first attracted by wondering what a movie version of Clue could be like. Currently I'm on my second viewing and find it better than the first.Unfortunately, this movie was never as popular as some of the other movies in the same decade .It's a hidden gem from 1985. I love the three endings part. I strongly recommend this film to anyone that is looking for something different than today's comedies. ... Read More
