Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Surpassing expectations to qualify as an above-average sequel, Jurassic Park III is nothing more or less than a satisfying popcorn adventure. A little cheesier than the first two Jurassic blockbusters, it's a big B movie with big B-list stars (including Laura Dern, briefly reprising her Jurassic Park role), and eight years of advancing computer-generated-image technology give it a sharp edge over its predecessors. While adopting the jungle spirit of King Kong, the movie refines Michael Crichton's original premise, and its dinosaurs are even more realistic, their behavior more detailed, and their variety--including flying pteranodons and a new villain, the spinosaurus--more dazzling and threatening than ever. These advancements justify the sequel, and its contrived plot is just clever enough to span 90 minutes without wearing out its welcome.

Posing as wealthy tourists, an adventurous couple (William H. Macy, Téa Leoni) convince paleontologist Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and his protégé (Allesandro Nivola) to act as tour guides on a flyover trip to Isla Sorna, the ill-fated 'Site B' where all hell broke loose in The Lost World: Jurassic Park. In truth, they're on a search-and-rescue mission to find their missing son (Trevor Morgan), and their plane crash is just the first of several enjoyably suspenseful sequences. Director Joe Johnston (October Sky) embraces the formulaic plot as a series of atmospheric set pieces, placing new and familiar dinosaurs in misty rainforests, fiery lakes, and mysterious valleys, turning JP3 into a thrill ride with impressive highlights (including a T. rex versus spinosaurus smack-down), adequate doses of wry humor (from the cowriters of Election), and an upbeat ending that's corny but appropriate, proving that the symptoms of sequelitis needn't be fatal. --Jeff Shannon

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Worthy Sequel To Jurassic Park
Unlike the first sequel, which I prefer to call 'Jurassic Farce', the third installment in the Dino-Thriller Series actually earns the right to call itself 'Jurassic Park'.

Tight pacing and a few new dino's keep this film exciting even if some of the story is tad preposterous. The T-Rex and the Raptors return to menace Grant and his new friends but the real star of the show is an even bigger badder 'meat-a-saurus' with a name I can't pronounce.

Fans of the books will recognize ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Nothing More Than Mindless Fun
I find Jurrasic Park 3 to be a good sequel to a great film. I think this should have been the sequel to the first film. Sure the diagoule was kind of written the way people talk but who cares just go in and have a good time. Can't wait for Jurraisc Park 4

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Better than part two.
I saw this because Sam Neil was coming back and I figured it couldn't be any worse than "The Lost World".
I was right, this one is better than the lost world.
Some epic fights between dinos in this movie.
The fight between the T Rex and the other big one (can't remember it's name) was awesome to watch.
The story is basically the same.
Yet another island was being used as a breeding ground. Whoopee.
It's kind of clever how they trick Neil onto the island.
All in all, ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Jurassic Park 3
Jurassic Park 3 is one of my favorites out of all the 3 movies. I like it because unlike the first 2 movies that were dominated by the Tyrannosaurus, they brought in the Spinosaurus that actually replaced the Tyrannosaur by getting into a fight with it a little later on in the film. I also like the fact that the velociraptor is in all three of the movies. Like the first two movies, Jurassic Park 3 is full of action, moves very quickly and is very accurate in it's dinosaur features. I love all three of the Jurassics ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - A Pointless Movie!
BOTTOM LINE:

This movie sucked! The story was ridiculous and the movie completely lost all of its magic. Even with the Pteradactyls it didn't work. The humans were unbelievably stupid, and the dinosaurs were reduced to nothing more than oversized monsters.

waste of a good franchise.
