Having delved repeatedly into the world of teenage joys and sorrows, from Sixteen Candles to Ferris Bueller's Day Off, writer-director John Hughes took a step into adulthood (or some facsimile of it) with She's Having a Baby. Peppered with whimsical asides and busy voice-over observations, the movie is shamelessly fun to watch, even if it doesn't add up to anything especially profound. Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth McGovern are newlyweds struggling through the tribulations of a youthful marriage. Along with the usual uncertainties, Bacon is sacrificing his dreams of becoming a writer to work in an ad agency, and his best supposed pal (Alec Baldwin, just before stardom) tries to seduce his wife. Hughes may have been reflecting on his own past job in advertising, and maybe that explains why the movie plays like a superficial, if entertaining, TV commercial. --Robert Horton

okay this item i bought it for myself cause when i was by myself in my room watching cable and i like it so i was like let me see if amazon have it and they did for 7.99 that was perfect for me

I rate it a 4 for the humore involved, and how much growing up couples have to do before they become parents.
Rating: - A widely overlooked John Hughes classic
For any fans of John Hughes, this is a must for the collection. This is a wonderful, heart-warming film. Guys should not be swayed by the title - this is NOT a chick flick. The story goes to the heart of what many men go through with their first (and sometimes only) child. Just a wonderfully written and acted movie. Kevin and Elizabeth were perfectly cast in this film. Enjoy.
Rating: - An overlooked 80's classic
This movie holds a special place in my heart. When we were living together, my then fiancee-now wife, and I found it on cable, and we saw so many parallels between the characters and ourselves that we just kept watching it. The movie helped me to understand that what we were feeling about life, and marriage, and eventually kids was normal and on some level, foolish. This was a movie I watched over 10 years ago, but it has stayed with me and remains as one of my best-loved movies.
