Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: You have a classic tale full of drama, passion, and adventure. A tale of universal archetypes that speak to everyone. A tale that has remained unfailingly popular for thousands of years. Why not spice it up with a wacky mechanical owl? Such was the thinking behind Clash of the Titans. Maggie Smith, Laurence Olivier, and Harry Hamlin (one of these things is not like the others...) star in a toga-ripper about a valiant hero, capricious immortals, and lots and lots of giant stop-action monsters. Perseus (Hamlin) is the favored son of the god Zeus (Olivier), but he has unwittingly ticked off the sea goddess Thetis (Smith). Just to make things worse, Perseus falls in love with the lovely Princess Andromeda, who used to be engaged to Thetis's son. Soon Perseus is off on one quest after another, with Zeus helping, Thetis hindering, and lots of innocent bystanders getting stabbed, drowned, and squished. Of course, the whole thing is just an excuse to show as much of Ray Harryhausen's stop-motion animation as possible, and good thing too. It's an old technique, but it still looks pretty darn cool, and it means the cast can just relax and do a bunch of reaction shots. Don't use this one to study for that big classical mythology exam, but if you just turn your brain off and enjoy the Kraken, it's pretty good fun. --Ali Davis

Rating: - An amazing film for fantasy fans
A fantastic story, Greek mythology afterall sets for some of the absolute best in fantasy story-telling. This is an absolute must for fantasy fans, I remember seeing this as a child and buying the toys that went along with it. I recently purchased the DVD and watched it again and was equally engrossed. They have scripted a remake of this film, the director of the Incredible Hulk has been hired to direct it. I am looking forward to it, but I hope they don't mess with the story. It's wonderful ... Rating: - I'd love to see a remake of this movie.
I saw this the first time when I was a kid.
Amazing still after all these years.
The special effects were pretty good for the time.
The story kicks butt.
A must see for those into action/adventure/fantasy.
Medussa should get her own movie.
She rocks.

Rating: - Classic
This is a classic / must have for the dvd sci-fi collector. Granted, effects are choppy, and unbelievable for this day and age but, that is what makes this a fun movie to have.
Rating: - A Great Classic
I bought this movie because I've always loved it as a kid growing up. I wanted my 6 yr old daughter to experience it just as I had. She enjoyed it just as much as me except for the fact that she kept saying "that looks so fake". Even without all the technology that we have today, we still both enjoyed this great classic of a movie.
Rating: - Loved the effects but theeee stoooorrryyy waaasss raatherrr slooow.
The stope motion animation and the female nudity was excellent, I just wish the action was a little more of a faster pace.
