Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
In an attempt to catch lightning in a bottle, Monty Python veteran John Cleese wrote this slapstick farce for the purpose of reuniting the comedic cast of A Fish Called Wanda. Fierce Creatures is all about a media mogul (Kevin Kline) who owns a London zoo. He demands that the park raise more profit, so the new zoo director (Cleese) orders that only dangerous animals be displayed in order to maximize ticket sales. In a dual role, Kline also plays the mogul's son, who plans to run the zoo with the help of displaced employees (including Michael Palin) and zoo programmer Willa Weston (Jamie Lee Curtis). The situation lends itself to comedic confusion and split-second timing, and for a few good laughs the film is a pretty safe bet. It's not as hilarious as A Fish Called Wanda (that's a pretty tall order), but Cleese knows comedy, and his efforts are worth a look. --Jeff Shannon

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Continuation on Fish Called Wanda
If you loved "A Fish Called Wanda" you will love this movie. So incredibly funny I laugh so hard even though I've seen it over a dozen times. All the characters mesh so well and the story line is beyond hilarious. It's on my "must have" list.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Funny movie
I loved this movie when it first came out, and it was great to see it again. The quality was really good too.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not a Fish Called Wanda
Although Fierce Creatures has some fairly funny situations, it lacks the side splitting laughs delivered by Wanda. Overall, it's not a bad movie. For Wanda lovers though, this follow up movie might be a bit of a disappointment.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very Funny
Cute and funny. Story line is a little weak, but the laughs gets you through the rough spots.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Not So Great
Don't go out of your way to see this one. 'A Fish called Wanda', while not my favorite of all time, was definitely better than this. The plot here is very simplistic: save the zoo. It could be for children except for the sexual innuendos. It was more slapstick-ish than clever, more 'cute' than funny.

For a great Cleese movie check out 'Clock-wise'. I wouldn't recommend this one.
