Average Rating:
Rating: - Nicholson is over the top
Three reasons why Jack Nicholson is regarded as one of the all time greats. "The Pledge" was the reason I bought this package of three. It not only showed Nicholson in an edgy role, the cameos were all outstanding. I think his scene in the church during the "Witches of Eastwick" film is probably one of his comedic best, all time. His role in the "One Flew Over" film has stood the test of time. The triolgy is well worth the outstanding price.
Rating: - Outstanding movie, might as well buy VHS
First off, the rating of 4/5 doesn't mean that I don't think this to be one of the greatest movies ever made. I do, and AFI ranked it 20 out 100 ever made. In 1975 it swept the big 5 Academy Awards (picture, actor, actress, director, screenplay). The movie is a 5/5 easy.
However, the DVD is basically the VHS on a different format. The video and sound look basically the same, and the special features are nonexistent.
