Editorial Review:
Description: 'Duck Power triumphs again!' (American Movie Classics) when everyone's favorite peewee hockey team returns to the ice for more slapshot action and slapstick laughter! The Mighty Ducks are thrilled to be chosen to compete in the Junior Goodwill Games as Team USA. They'll be facing off against the best teams from all over the world -- including the meanest team that ever sliced up the ice! Are they out of their league? Has Coach Bombay (Emilio Estevez) let the big time go to his head, forgetting that it's just a game? But when a street hockey gang teaches the Ducks to get tough, the Coach remembers how to have fun ... and the Ducks show the world the true meaning of Duck Power!
Amazon.com: This follow-up to the surprise Disney hit about a hockey team of misfits brings Emilio Estevez back to the role of the kids' yuppie coach. This time, Estevez assimilates his Ducks into the higher-stakes Team USA in the Junior Goodwill Games, an opportunity that could bring fame and money. Entirely perfunctory, this sequel is basically an excuse to revisit the eccentricities of some of the younger characters, extend some of their conflicts into adolescence, and showcase their allegedly entertaining but ethically dubious abilities on the ice. Estevez is okay, but even he had enough after this movie. --Tom Keogh

'D2: The Mighty Ducks' released in '94 is the second installment in the adventures of Coach Gordon Bombay (Emilio Estevez) and his misfit team of teenage hockey overachievers. After his shot at a professional hockey career is ended by a knee injury Gordon returns to the Mighty Ducks with a new vision of hockey glory. They have been chosen to join Team U.S.A. at the Junior Goodwill Games to be played at the Arrowhead Pond in California. Isn't Disney so predictable. Several outstanding Junior players ... Read More

One year later after the ducks beat the Hawks they and their coach are back this time they are going for a bigger prize to play against other countries around the world to do this they get new players added to the ducks team they are from all around the U.S.A. The only team they have trouble with beating and geating alone with is Iceland their team looks like grown ups. At the championship game the duck wore their old uniforms instead of the red white and blue.
Rating: - Excellent film, Horrible DVD!
Buena Vista (the company that releases Disney films on DVD) chose to not release anamorphic DVDs when they first came to DVD, so none of these films are anamorphically enhanced. This means, if you have a widescreen television, you will have black bars on all four sides of the picture. Also, these discs are absolutely barebones, only featuring a Dolby 2.0 soundtrack and a 1.85:1 widescreen presentation. Where are the extras?! I don't know about you guys, but I am a Mighty Duck fan who is disappointed by ... Read More

I thought that this sequel was very good. It was interesting to see the Duck get new members from different parts of the country. I liked it that the Ducks (team USA) got to play against teams from around the world in the Junior Goodwill Games. It was interesting that Iceland was like the Hawks in this movie- only tougher. At the end of the movie, when the Ducks were at the campfire, that they sang 'We are the Champians.' All in all, I thought it was a great movie.
