Editorial Review:
Description: 'Elizabeth! I'm comin, honey!' Those were the words often heard coming from 9114 South Central, home to Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx) and his son Lamont (Demond Wilson) - known more affectionately to each other as 'Pop' and 'Dummy' - and their junkyard business. Sanford and Son was the second TV series from Norman Lear and Bud Yorkin, who created the groundbreaking 'All in the Family' the year before. 'Sanford and Son' aired from 1972-1977 and was NBC's most popular prime-time series for four of its five seasons, earning four Emmy nominations and a Golden-Globe Award for Redd Foxx during its run. Enjoy this hysterical first season - or you'll get one across the lip.

Rating: - I Have One Question . . .
I am a avid viewer of Sanford & Son and had a question.
They are releasing the entire series in a set; and I wanted to know if the episodes, once started, play consecutively; or if they play one, then stop; then play another, then stop . . . et cetera.
So in essence, you have to restart from the menu each time an episode finishes. Or perhaps, do they give you a choice.
Thank you.

Rating: - A review from an English person
I purchased this out of curiosity. Having grown up with the original British version 'Steptoe and Son' I wanted to see what the American remake version was like as some of the episodes scripts from the first season were carried over. I enjoyed the season and the American actors make it their own. Fred Sanford AKA Red Foxx steals the show and it's hard not to like him.

IF YOU LIKED THE SHOW IN THE 70 S U LOVE THIS
Rating: - Sanford and Son - The First Season
The first season of Sanford and Son is classic TV at its best. This set has fourteen episodes because it's a half-season set. Twelve of the episodes are adaptations of scripts from the British series Steptoe and Son. Redd Foxx is what makes this series work; he's funny, has impeccable timing in line delivery & is very opinionated. You can't help but love his character though it seems like he doesn't like anybody, including his own son.
DVD quality is great but there aren't any bonus ... Read More
Rating: - LOVE IT!
We watch this DVD about every two months and the whole family loves it. Especially my 10 year old son. We both Seasons two, three and six and watch them all the time. We laugh just like it's the first time we've seen it each time.
