Editorial Review:

Description:
Beneath the living, beyond the dead, they rose from the depths of hell's ocean! In the dark days of World War II, the Nazi High Command ordered its scientists to create the Death Corps, a top secret race of indestructible zombie storm troopers--un-living, unfeeling, unstoppable monstrosities able to kill with their bare hands. No member of this horrific SS unit was ever captured by the Allied forces--and somewhere off the coast of Florida, they have survived. Peter Cushing (The Curse of Frankenstein), Brooke Adams (The Dead Zone), and John Carradine (The Howling) star in this suspenseful and genuinely creepy shocker co-written and directed by Ken Wiederhorn (Return of the Living Dead 2). One of the great horror 'sleepers' of the '70s, 'Shock Waves' has now been transferred from the director's own vault print and digitally restored for this premiere DVD release!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Shockingly Good Movie!
If you like your horror dripping with blood this IS NOT the film for you. But if you appreciate well-crafted suspense and a higher level of filmmaking than one sees in most horror movies, then this one's for you! Some of the images have come back to haunt me weeks, even months later!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The only good Nazi is a dead Nazi !
I will go on record as stating that this is one of the best zombie films made in it's time. I saw this film on vhs 20 or more years ago and have owned this dvd version for at least 6 years now. I watch it at least 20 times a year to this day. It is second in running against Romero's Day of the Dead as best Zombie flick ever. The story is basically a pleasure cruise on an overpriced but somewhat run down cruiser runs into an old derelict ship in the middle of the night while lost in a strangely eerie ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Boring Mer-Nazi Fix
Shock Waves suffers from unrequited potential. The monsters here are undead MER-NAZIS (!!!) who automatically kill any human being they encounter. Call me old fashioned, but I expected Mer-Nazis would be more exciting. Or at least have some motivation and take apparent satisfaction from their work. These guys go about their task with the approximate eclat and aplomb of a trash collector.

The monsters are essentially stealth/ambush killers who dispatch their victims with mute efficiency ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - How do the Nazi zombies keep their uniforms looking so nice?
During World War II, German scientists performed top-secret experiments in the paranormal and worked at creating an invincible super soldier. They succeeded on creating a squad of soldiers who were neither living, nor dead. Allied troops later spoke of battling with this elite SS unit, known as the Death Corps, who fought without weapons and killed with their bare hands. The allies never captured a single member of this SS unit.

Two couples looking for some leisure time on the ocean take a dive ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The King of the Genre
Classic late-nite TV fare. Tom LaBrie and his LaBrie Nightcomfort Theater are to thank for introducing me to this one.
