Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - For the LAST time - things The Curmudgeon actually LIKES - part five!
Sigh - it never lasts long enough, does it? Every time I've brought back the limited series of positive reviews, they come at such a rate that before I know what's happening it's time to start dredging up the reality stars and God-awful excuses for music and television that I usually review. Ho-hum - so much good stuff, and so little time.

But let's push on, because we've got something a bit different for our last positive review. Now, I decided on a DVD, and when I looked through the ... Read More

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Do YOU believe in ghosts?
Having seen two different ghosts on separate occasions in my life, then my answer is, most definitely, yes. And no, I wasn't dreaming. I wasn't allowed to see this show back when it originally aired back in 1992, my mother and aunt were busy keeping the living room for their own drunken yacking. I never knew it was a sham at the time but was intrigued nonetheless. Afterwards, ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great fun
Very "War of the Worlds" type entry formt he BBC. Craig Charles guests as the BBC sets up a reality show type setting to spend the night in a haunted house with a mom and two little girls.

It doesn't take long for all the weirdness to kick in. Really creepy with surprisingly good effects, a fun chiller.

The ending goes way too over the top, but it's a fun ride.

Fun thing to do: They put the ghost in a few of the crowd scenes and a hid him in a few frames here and there. ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of Horror's Missing Gems
It is a shame, as I write this, that this incredible TV Movie is so unavailable in the US. Yes, when it originaly aired it tricked and manipulated viewers into questioning, "Is what I'm watching really happening?" But it by no means relies on that gimic to shock and terrify us. You can know the entire story. You can understand that this was a Halloween prank put on by the BBC. But it will still frighten you.

As a true lover of Horror I can easily rank Ghost Watch in my top five. It is truly unnerving. ... Read More
