Amazon.com:
In the charming independent movie Bug, a small boy squashing an insect sets in motion a series of events, large and small, that include a lost restaurant reservation, a drunken fender-bender, disruption of basic cable television service, and more than one relationship falling apart. One person's disaster becomes another's boon, and vice versa--because a man loses his job, a young girl becomes the lead ballerina in the school play, which in turn causes the death of a pet pig. Featuring Brian Cox (Manhunter, L.I.E.), Jamie Kennedy (Scream, Malibu's Most Wanted), Sarah Poulson (Down with Love), and John Carroll Lynch (Fargo, Bubble Boy), Bug takes a comic look at the interconnectedness of life. The movie occasionally tries too hard for emotional resonance, but its best comic touches--like some vengeful fortune cookie messages written by a jilted boyfriend--give Bug a wry wit worth checking out. --Bret Fetzer

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Bug, Every Step Counts
Wonderful movie. I can watch this one over and over and not grow tired of its story.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - "In... sensite! You're an insensite!"
While watching Bug (2002), I couldn't help think of the line `One thing leads to another' from the 1983 song of the same name by the band The Fixx (I'll explain later). The film was written and directed by Matt Manfredi, who recently finished a screenplay for a live adaptation of Aeon Flux (scheduled release 2005), starring Charlize Theron, based on the fairly violent, highly stylized animated shorts originally shown on MTV's Liquid Television, which appeared way back in 1991, but I digress...

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Quirky and Entertaining
I've always been intrigued by the notion of how life can change just by being someplace at the right or wrong time, or arriving at your planned destination moments earlier or later. "Bug" explores these issues in a quirky and very entertaining fashion, and in a much more original style than more conventional movies dealing with the subject, like "Sliding Doors." I especially enjoyed John Carroll Lynch's performance as a well-meaning guy who seems to have the world against him at times despite all ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Well done!
I remember reading years ago about what I thought was a novel idea for a film. The plan involved taking a rather mundane object--in this case a twenty dollar bill--and use it as a means to examine the lives and various situations of each person who came into contact with the money. I eventually saw the movie, appropriately entitled "Twenty Bucks," on cable a few years later. I liked the result, and apparently so did many other people as the idea has since been reconstructed in Paul Thomas Andersen's ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - A Nice File
This a surprisingly good movie. Love the way the film inter-weaves how every choice or decision we make with how it impacts those know and unknown to us. The only bad part of this film is that the soundtrack is not available.
