Editorial Review:

Description:
A newborn is found dead in a serene, simple Amish farming community. Was it a tragic accident or could it be murder? That's the shocking question facing high-profile criminal lawyer Ellie Harrison (Mariska Hargitay), who ditches her self-indulgent city life to head to rural Pennsylvania. Ellie must defend an 18-year-old Amish girl, Katie (Alison Pill), who stands accused of killing her baby. Despite the surmounting evidence, the teen insists that she was never pregnant. While trying to learn her client's secrets, Ellie is forced to live with the Amish and attempts to break down the barriers of this very private society. Inspired by the best-selling Jodi Picoult novel of the same name.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - The Plain Truth
By far one of the best Lifetime movies I have seen. Excellent story, acting, directing, scenery, sets, and camera work. If you enjoy a good drama you should at least rent this one. An Amish girl, expertly played by Alison Pill, is accused of murdering her baby when they find a dead infant near her parents farm house. She shows signs of giving birth, but she claims she never had the baby. A friend of the family tries to assist them by asking her friend to defend the girl. Mariska Hargatay of "Law ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great Movie
This movie is great from start to finish.Mariska Hargitay is such a great actress and when your watching her you can feel all the emotions she's feeling. This lady deserves to be in more movies!I was shocked by the ending! If you like surprise endings this movie is for you. This movie is never dull or boring.Totally worth the money and time.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Horrible
Most Lifetime movies aren't worth watching (unless you're in the mood for, well, a Lifetime movie), but this one actually looked promising. For the most part, it was interesting, up until the "surprising twist," which nearly caused me to vomit. I would never recommend this to anyone, it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and I've seen some bad ones. Go check out My Stepson, My Lover instead.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - pretty good
I pretty muck picked this up based on Mariska Hargitay on Law & Order. This could have been better as a series than a movie. Mariska is wonderful as always. Its a shame she doesn't get top Hollywood roles.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Plain Truth
Excellent movie, although it was made for TV the story line is such that it will grab you and have you trying to find out the ending before the movie is half over. Highly recommend the movie.
