Don't just think of The Wedding Singer as an Adam Sandler comedy--though it most certainly is that. But also think of it as the tip of the wave of the 1980s nostalgia craze that followed on the heels of the 1970s nostalgia craze. Set in the post-disco, new wave era, the film tells the story of Robbie Hart (Sandler), the king of small-town wedding-band singers, who once dreamt of being a rock star. But his contentment with life shatters when his fiancée stands him up at the altar. After wallowing in self-pity (by musically attacking the next wedding couple he serenades) and swearing off women, he helps a new friend, Julia (Drew Barrymore), get ready for her impending nuptials--only to find himself falling in love with her. If you're a Sandler fan, you'll enjoy him as an actual adult, though a wise-cracking one. And dig all those kooky '80s reference jokes and that greatest-hits-of-early-MTV soundtrack. --Marshall Fine

Rating:  - One of My Favorite Movies
As a child of the 80's, I've always loved this movie. This "Totally Awesome" addition has an extra scene and a great extra feature that will move you to the location in the film where each song on the soundtrack appears. Besides, Drew Barrymore is completely cute, and her chemistry with Sandler is legendary.
Rating:  - RELAX...Just Do It.
When this movie first came out, I thought it would be a major chick-flick. It turned out to be one of the funniest movies we have ever watched. My whole family enjoys it and we've watched it time and time again. In fact, the first disc became scratched and I had to replace it with this new DVD.
I'm telling you, if you liked the 80's, you will like this movie. They managed to capture the essence of the 80's. You would almost swear it was actually filmed at that time. Great soundtrack ... Read More
Rating: - A Change of Pace for Sandler
In my opinion, this is one of Adam Sandler's best films. The on-screen chemistry he has with Barrymore comes forth as honest and truthful. It's a change of pace from his films such as Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore. He plays a more loveable character. The setting of the 1980's makes it a wonderful time period for cliches and inside jokes for those of us who grew up in the decade.
