Product Description: One of Walt Disney's most precious film classics, SO DEAR TO MY HEART (Meu Querido Carneirinho) combines live action and animation to tell the heartwarming story of a young boy with big dreams and an even bigger imagination! Jeremiah is the determined country boy who adopts a rejected and mischievous black lamb named Danny. While drawing a picture of Danny in his scrapbook, Jeremiah daydreams of winning a blue ribbon at the County Fair. Then, from the pages of the scrapbook, Danny and other animal pictures magically come to life and convince Jeremiah to enter the real-life Danny -- a pet without a pedigree -- into the upcoming County Fair! But the road to the fair is filled with tough challenges for Jeremiah, who must learn the importance of dedication, love, and repsonsibility. Featuring the Academy Award(R)-nominated song 'Lavender Blue' (performed by Burl Ives), and a host of enjoyable songs for children and adults, SO DEAR TO MY HEART is high-spirited, sentimental fun for everyone! *This is the Brazilian import and is region 1 compatible. It has words written in portuguese on the back.

Rating: - The Region 4 import "Mey Querido Carneirnho" is perfect for USA viewers!
I just received the Brazilian Region 4 import DVD of "So Dear To My Heart" (which bears the title "Meu Querido Carneirnho" on the packaging.) This is an official Disney DVD that is 100% USA DVD-player compatible. The text on the sleeve and disc graphics are in Portugeuse, but the disc content is 100% English.
As soon as you pop the disc in (and I mean literally--before any Disney logo or the DVD menu appears) you get a splash screen to choose the language. Choose English and all subsequent ... Read More

If you've anxiously awaited a North American DVD release of this film only to be disappointed that Disney has delayed it indefinitely, this is the alternative. This is the official Region 4 Disney DVD that has been released in Brazil, yet is 100% compatible with Region 1 NTSC systems of the US and Canada.
Only the cover and disc artwork are in Portuguese, but when you play the disc, the first thing that you'll see is ... Read More
Rating: - Don't miss it
The second movie made by Walt Disney that employed live actors, SO DEAR TO MY HEART was released in 1949 with the same two child stars used in SONG OF THE SOUTH. SO DEAR was reportedly one of Walt Disney's favorites because it reminded him of his childhood home in Missouri.
SO DEAR TO MY HEART was shown on television during the first season of Walt Disney's television program in 1954, then again in 1957, and was released theatrically in the early 1960s. It was shown on television once more ... Read More
