Features 5 episodes! - The Lightning Boy from the Mamodo World!, A Freezing Spell!, The Second Spell! and The Great Mamodo Battle!
Amazon.com: Kiyo Takamine, the hero of the long-running broadcast series Zatch Bell (2003), is a 14-year-old genius with a chip on his shoulder the size of Mt. Fuji: he doesn't like his junior high classmates and they don't like him. Kiyo's father asks him to look after Zatch Bell, a diminutive boy who possesses a book of spells; Zatch insists he's looking after Kiyo, and sets out to win him some friends. Kiyo discovers that when he invokes a spell from the book correctly, Zatch shoots lightning out of his mouth that zaps anything and anyone in its path. Zatch is a Mamodo, a child from another dimension, who will become king of his world if he and his human partner defeat the other 99 contenders loose on Earth. Purists complain that Zatch Bell has been edited for its American release, but the series was never a masterpiece, and the grade-school boys who constitute its obvious audience probably won't care. Rating: - An awesome series with an enchanting beginning. SPOILERS AHEAD!
Ok, I know the introduction to animes are boring, but this series gets off to a fast-paced start which is a great way to start off a series. The series is about a genius named Kiyo Takamine who struggles in school for he skips and he is bullied. Then, his life makes a turn for the better. His father finds a yellow haired boy in the woods almost dead (who LOVES yellowtail) and he sends the boy to Kiyo as a birthday present so that Kiyo might be able to do better. But theres a secret this boy contains... ... Read More
Rating: - GOOD SERIES
AS MUCH AS I WANTED TO HATE ZATCH BELL IT TURNED INTO A GOOD SERIES ACTUALLY AND IS GOOD SERIES ON TOONAMI. I LOVE IT MAKES ME REMEMBER WHY ANIMES ARE GREAT TO WATCH. IT HAS ALL THE HUMOR, ACTIONS AND ADVENTURE THAT EVERY ANIME THAT IS GOOD HAS TO IT ARSONEL. SO IT THINK ITS DESERVES TO BE WATCHED. HAS REAL POTENTIAL.
Rating: - What a concept
I've always liked these kind of involved animes...at least Shopro got it right this time.
Normally, I'd stay away from shows like these, but because I can't watch Yu Yu Hakusho anymore, this does well enough.
There's much to love about this show: the plot, the action, and you're always wondering what mamodo is next and what powers it has.
character wise, I'd say that Suzie's my favorite....she's so clueless!
Rating: - I love this show, but....
I love Gash Bell, but I wouldn't buy this DVD because it is edited and only available in English. I watched the fansubs of this show, and it really isn't something to miss. But the voice actors in this series bug me to no end, and I never support the editing of content...at least without an un-edited version available.
