Editorial Review:
Description: Sam (Hugh Grant) has it all - a wonderful girlfriend, a successful child psychology practice and a red Porsche. But he's faced with having something he never wanted when he learns his girlfriend (Julianne Moore) is expecting. The news sends the unflappable psychologist into a panic. Torn between advise given by a well-meaning but over-bearing couple, (Tom Arnold and Joan Cusack), and by his confirmed bachelor buddy (Jeff Goldblum), Sam's in serious danger of losing his mind and his girlfriend. He's got just nine months - give or take a week, according to their crazy Russian gynecologist (Robin Williams) - to grow up!
Amazon.com: This film represents Hugh Grant's first big bid at Hollywood stardom, on the heels of the success of Four Weddings and a Funeral. But he stumbled twice: first with this mundane comedy, then by being arrested after soliciting a prostitute near downtown Hollywood, the week before the film opened. Directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire), Nine Months was a weak reworking of a French film about an aging bachelor (Grant) who can't decide whether to commit to the woman he loves (Julianne Moore). When she becomes pregnant, he still can't make up his mind and winds up blowing hot and cold on the subject of fatherhood, which causes tension in the relationship. There's a lot of low comedy involving Grant's best friend; Tom Arnold plays this ultra-married and child-ridden suburbanite, who makes fatherhood look like a living hell. Robin Williams has a funny cameo as a foreign doctor, but in the end, the sentiment is ladled on and Grant doesn't have nearly enough funny material to work with. --Marshall Fine

Rating: - Sweet and Fun Movie With a Good Message
Although this film is a little corny at parts, and the narrative is SO 90s... The plot, humor, cast, music and development win out and serve up an ultimately heart warming flick with a pro-life message.
Rating: - Could have lived without Robin Williams
This is an adorable movie. Hugh Grant and Julianne Moore have that chemistry. A warm comedy about a couple who find themselves pregnant and Hugh (the father) isn't to happy about the situation until he has it
all taken away from him due to his selfishness. I watch this movie
everytime I comes on tv.I never thought I would be a fan of Tom
Arnold but everything I have seen him in I just love him. Tom plays a friend of the couple. And Tom and his wife (Joan Cusack) are sought out

Rating: - Here comes baby!
Nine Months starring Hugh Grant is a cute romantic comedy. Directed by Chris Columbus, Nine Months follows a young unmarried couple who about to bring a baby into the world. Grant is charming as always and his non-stop flustering is always engaging. Julianne Moore is great as well, I like in these kind of films. Robin Williams, Tom Arnold, Jeff Goldblum, and Joan Cusack also star. This movie is highly entertaining, laughs the whole through, check it out sometime.
Rating: - I couldn't stop laughing
Wow! I have read everyone's review and I'm surprised with some of the low ratings. My husband told me about this movie and I couldn't wait till see it. When it arrived, I couldn't wait to get home and watch it. Let me tell you, it was definitely worth watching. I will agree that the fight in the delivery room should've been something that the director could've deleted from the movie, but other then that I couldn't stop laughing. There was a scene where Hugh Grant was watching the ultrasound that his ... Read More
Rating: - ~Great Romantic Comedy~
I remember watching this movie when it came out at the theater (I was 2 weeks away from having my 1st child). It was so cute & funny that when it was release on DVD I had to buy it. I was hoping that they would have come out with a Special Edition for their 10th anniversary as I've heard from an insider that they cut a lot of funny scenes of Dr. Kosevich (played by Robin Williams) out.
It has a fantastic all star cast:
Hugh Grant, Julianne Moore, Joan Cusack, Robin Williams, ... Read More
