Amazon.com: The third season of the popular shonen (boy's) show Dragon Ball Z continues the adventures of Goku and Gohan on Namek, Piccolo's home planet. Goku, who has been in a regeneration tank since the end of season 2, recovers just in time to challenge the sniggering Frieza, one of the most grating villains in anime history. Having defeated Gohan, Krillin, Vegeta, and Piccolo, Frieza takes on Goku in a protracted duel. When he begins to doubt his ability to overcome Goku, Frieza destroys the core of Namek, ensuring it will explode in a matter of minutes. Enraged by the death of Krillin and so many others, Goku transforms into the one thing Frieza fears: a Super Saiyan, a legendary warrior who appears once every 1,000 years. As the seconds tick away, the two most powerful individuals in the universe duke it out. While they're beating the soba out of each other, King Kai hatches a plan to use the Dragon Balls of Earth and Namek to ensure a happy ending. As the battle between Goku and Frieza intensifies, the kicks and punches fly, producing titanic explosions. But the duel goes on for more than 20 episodes: With only a limited budget and crude special-effects techniques at their disposal, the filmmakers have to recycle footage endlessly. Dragon Ball Z: Season 3 is more entertaining when the viewer allows a few days to elapse between episodes, rather than indulging in a Super Saiyan marathon. (Rated TV PG. suitable for ages 8 and older: violence, brief nudity, tobacco use, ethnic stereotypes) --Charles Solomon

Rating: - Great boxset.
This boxset is a great buy for the money. $30 for the entire saga is well worth it. And, the digitally remastered episodes look the best they have ever been. Go buy it!
Rating: - Great show, boring season.
If you haven't seen the entire Frieza Saga then you probably don't realize how extremely dragged out it is. One fight should not take EIGHT HOURS. If you don't have the seasons before this one, I would buy them first, as they are far less boring. I would suggest the Namek Saga, as there are many fights but none get boring as here.
Rating: - Frieza Remastered!
I'll quickly dispel any of the doubts you may have reading other reviews. No, the cropping isn't that noticeable on this set, its about the same as the 2nd season which is not much (read that review of mine). The colors of Namek and the sky are wonderful in their remastered version, just as good as Earth's (don't know why people complain about that).
The Super saiyan fight is on! A great addition to the DBZ collection showcasing the overthrow of the mighty tyrant whose sole purpose is ... Read More
Rating: - One of the best dragonball z seasons!
I love dragonball z! It is one of the most beloved longest running anime's and for a reason. This has to be one of the best dragonball z seasons! If you don't already have season 3 then you should pick up a copy today! I recommend this to anyone who is a fan of anime.
Rating: - Love them!
I already own the entire DBZ series on a mixture of DVDs & VHS. It takes up so much space that I needed almost an entire book shelf unit to hold them all. These new realesed DVD sagas are WONDERFUL. I am now packing away all of my originals and replacing them with these sets. They take up very little space and can be out with the rest of my DVDs. I plan to buy them all as they come out!
