Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Great Movie, Dissappointing DVD
Dog Soldiers is an often exciting, tense and funny B-horror flick that's definitely worth your time. Sadly First Look's re-release is a real let down. The image quality is fine and in 16/9 widescreen, but none of the extras promised on the back of the box are here. No featurette, no commentary, no trailers, no sub-titles of any kind and no chapter selection. The audio seems to be in 2-channel stereo as well. A rather underwhelming presentation. Try to find the Fox release instead.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Neil Marshall makes the horror genre proud
Dog Soldiers is like the movie Aliens, but with giant bloodthirsty werewolves running around and ripping people to shreds. They are actually quite scary here, mainly because the director smartly keeps them in the shadows for the first half of the film. The werewolf costumes blow away all the CGI junk that fills the movies nowadays. The entire cast (especially Sean Pertwee & Kevin McKidd), the remote woodland setting, the gore effects and the twist ending are all top notch. If I had to make a ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Definitive Werewolf Flick
Thanks to the Amazon horror forum, I stumbled across this film about two years ago. I watched it again last night, and can say without a doubt that it is the best werewolf movie out there. Sure I still love Lon Chaney as "The Wolf Man", and no one can dispute the genius behind "An American Werewolf in London", but "Dog Soldiers" tops them all.
We are immediately introduced to a likable band of "weekend warrior" Scottish National Guard unit, who under the pretense of a training exercise are ... Read More

I enjoyed this movie. I also believe that Kevin McKidd was in the HBO series Rome. The only shortcoming of this DVD was it stated that there were supposed to be extras when in fact there were none.
