I loved this Manhattan-based series when it was on in the 1980s. Edward Woodward was great as a British gentleman, retired special agent who had worked for "The Company" (CIA?). Because he felt bad about all the stuff he had done for The Company (killed, etc.), he decided to try to help people who had nowhere to turn. Wonderful trip down Memory Lane - the show was my favorite at the time. Interesting to look back so many years later and laugh at the 80's and reconsider it all from an older perspective.

This is a long-awaited DVD release of one of the best TV series ever created.
However, it seems that some of the episodes are "cropped", in that the originals were filmed in a different, theatrical aspect ratio than the standard TV screen (the opening titles are askew on many of them). Rating: - Edward Woodward-The Equalizer!!!
The Equalizer was always one of my favorite shows in the 80s but I forgot how much I enjoyed these shows. I've never seen all the episodes including the first three I've watched so far in Season One. I'm rationing this first season as I don't want to run out before season two becomes available. They're that good! Bring on the seasons 2 through 4. 88 total episodes. Can't wait to watch the other 85. By then it will be time to watch them again!!!
