Description: John Newton is captain of a slave ship moored off the coast of Nigeria. This film was definitely heartfelt. I enjoyed the interactions with Newton and the slave girl. There was a sort of innocence and naïveté about the movie. Each character from the brutal African slave catcher to the shipmate that was cast down in rank to be amongst the slaves due to his change of heart was very emotional. This was a hugely disappointing portrayal of John Newton's life as a slave trader. I'm sorry I wasted my money on it. Watch the Movie "Amazing Grace" ; your money will be much better spent.
