Errol Flynn fans. Finally one more box of Errol Flynn's western movies, but were are Silver River 1948 a very good western missing, i hope they release it soon maybe in a New Western box by Warner Bros they have so many good western still to put out on dvd/blu-ray.
What about a Robert Taylor Boxset please Warner Bros or release a second volume of "Warner Home Video Western Classic Collection" RT has three big westerns in that box (Many Rivers to Cross/The Law and Jake Wade/Saddle the ... Read More
Rating:  - Plenty of extras, plenty of action, plenty of good looks
Obviously, I like Errol Flynn so I was thrilled when this box set was offered. As with many of the Warner Brothers disc sets, there's the Warner Night at the Movies extra features which includes cartoons, short subjects and newsreels of the year the featured film was released. Perhaps not a group of his best films (as others have mentioned) but enjoyable none the less. Rating: - A mixed bag, at best. Rocky Mountain is a winner and Flynn is very good as the burdened Capt. Barstow
The four movies that make up this set are, for the most part, conventional westerns with plenty of action and a fair amount of entertainment value. They depend heavily on Errol Flynn's charm and star quality. The exception is Rocky Mountain. Alone among the others it packs a real punch and offers us Flynn as a man who doesn't charm, woo or perform stunts. It's a very good movie and a quality performance.
