After the tragic death of their mother when they were children, twin sisters Agata and Catalina Hameran developed a special skill, a way of communicating without speaking, a 'link' between them. After a mysterious accident on Kilometer 31, Agata falls into a coma. Catalina, thanks to their 'link', feels the pain and tragedy that her sister is going through at the time of the accident. Following a series of supernatural events, Catalina realizes that their 'link' is stronger than ever and that her sister Agata is screaming for help from her unconscious state. Catalina is now determined to find out what really happened to her sister in order to help her wake up. Nuño, Agata's long time friend, and Omar, Catalina's boyfriend, agree to help her. But they soon find out that not only is Agata in a coma, but she is also trapped between reality and an ancient legend, the legend of La Llorona.
Después de la trágica muerte de su madre, dos hermanas gemelas Ágata y Catalina desarrollan una forma de comunicarse sin hablar, una especie de telepatía entre ellas. Después de un misterioso accidente en el kilómetro 31, Ágata entra en coma. Debido a su fuerte conexión, Catalina siente el dolor de la tragedia. A esta situación, le siguen una serie de eventos sobrenaturales, la conexión es más fuerte que nunca y Catalina se da cuenta que Ágata grita y sufre desde su estado, así que debe de buscar la forma de ayudarla a despertar. Rating: - Reminiscent of J-Horror!!
This movie is easily reminiscent of the J-Horror movies that have been taking the horror movie world by storm. The only difference is that this film is from Mexico and not Asia. "KM 31" or Kilometer 31 is a scary, moody, chilling, and well done movie. To say the least it topped box-office records in Mexico. As I watched it, it reminded me of Ju-on and The Ring. However, without giving too much, the movie takes a fresh spin at an old Mexican Folklore tale about a woman and her lost children.
