Amazon.com: Fred Astaire plays a fashion photographer based on real-life cameraman Richard Avedon, in this entertaining musical directed by Stanley Donen (Singin' in the Rain). The story finds Astaire's character turning Audrey Hepburn into a chic Paris model--not a tough premise to buy, especially within this film's air of enchantment and surrounded by a great Gershwin score. Based on an unproduced play, this is one of the best films from the latter part of Astaire's career. --Tom Keogh

WATCH OUT! If you get songs stuck in your head, then beware, the songs in this film are so very catchy. Don't leave your windows open for peeping Tom's to see you because you will feel the need to get up and dance along! This is such a great film/musical. A must own.

I really like the old movies and this one is a winner. There was so much talent and effort that went into this that you can't help but being entertained. Audrey's such a doll. I guess they don't make 'em like they used to, take that any way you want.

Interesting movie if you care about fashion photography.Richard Avedon was consultant on the film. The clothes by Givenchy are timeless, exquisite. Fred's wardrobe is elegant and interesting. Performances are good, especially Kay Thompson's. Special features are as good as the film.

Three stars - Audrey Hepburn, Fred Astaire, the-almost-otherwise-unremembered (except for being the creator of Eloise) Kay Thompson - and a full slate of Gershwin songs make this light and delicate confection of a movie musical as airy and enjoyable as a meringue. It dissolves, leaving nothing more than a memory of having spent a couple of hours watching it, a sweet memory on the tongue, and a couple of amusing crumbs of dance, 50ies haute couture and Paris in the springtime. It was amusing to compare ... Read More

I received this movie/dvd today and ran to my dvd. lol..It started and there was a buzzing sound. I figured maybe it would go away after a while but no. I'm not sending it back, but I'm warning all of you who order this that the sound quality IS AWFUL! This was supposed to be a 'new' dvd. :( sigh...sigh..what a waste and I simply adore Audrey's movies. :)
