Rating: - A milestone for Milestone
One of the great, war films of the genre, A Walk in the Sun takes place primarily during a walk from their landing point in Salerno, Italy to a farmhouse they are to capture 6 miles away. The few combat scenes are brilliantly intertwined with the flashbacks. Very few "cheesy" heroic scenes is also a plus in this movie. Dana Andrews, Lloyd Bridges, Richard Conte & Cast each get their 15 minutes in this film as they each see the war from their own perspective on the approach to the farmhouse.
