Rating: - Pretty Good
I recieved it in a reasonable amount of time and it was in good condition, but the movie itself was a bit of a drag. The characters dont show much passion and intensity in ther acting.
Rating: - Still the best Persuasion on film
Persuasion with Amanda Root and cast is gorgeously filmed and quietly rendered. I have recently (Jan. 13, 2008) had the pleasure of watching Masterpiece Theater's latest production of Persuasion and it is very good, too. But, much as I enjoyed the casting in the new rendition, they can't hold a candle to Amanda Root as Anne Eliot, Ciaran Hinds as Captain Wentworth, and other cast members. There is a tender and quiet aching in this classic not quite as palpable in other productions.
Rating: - Wife loved this one.
My wife asked for this for Christmas and I obliged.
She says it's her favorite movie version of the story.
Rating: - arrived on time for Christmas gift
Ordered kinda late but, DVD arrived on time for Christmas gift.
very satisfied with service of seller
Rating: - Disappointing
I was hoping to find this movie as entertaining as Kiera Knightly's
Pride and Prejudice but it was not even close. The actors were
good, but the actress playing Anne seemed too old for the role
(yes, she was very good). She was supposed to be transformed somewhat
near the end, but I think they just plucked her eyebrows and added
a little blush. I saw no chemistry between the two leads, and it
did not seem very romantic. The kiss at the end just seemed weird
because they kissed on a busy street, which probably would not have
happened then.
If you are curious, I would rent it before laying out the money.
It was too slow for me to view again.
