Rating: - Two Hilarious Classics For The Price Of One!
Porky's: A classic, as everyone knows. Hilarious scenes include the Cherry Forever incident, the first run in with Mr. Porky, the call for Mike Hunt, the scene with Lassie in the boy's locker room, and of course, the famous shower scene. The movie's good 'cause, as well as being really funny, it's a nostalgic look at a time long gone, and has some good messages about anti-Semiticism and child abuse, all topped off with an awesome revenge scheme.
Porky's II The Next Day: Leonard Maltin called this movie "unrelated to the original." I don't know what movie he was watching, because, although this doesn't have Porky or his bar, this one continues right after part one with the same characters and lots of continuations from the original. A lot of people don't like this 'cause it's missing Porky, but the important thing is the characters are here and just as fun. There's more revenge, all of it rightfully deserved and deliciously done. A very worthy sequel (although Jarvis healed major injuries pretty quickly).
This is a cool DVD. I got it for Christmas, and watch it a lot. The only problem is that Porky's is already available on a singular DVD, so it might have made more sense to relase a DVD with Porky's II The Next Day and Porky's Revenge together, since Porky's Revenge is not yet available on DVD. Ah well, this is still a fun movie set with two really funny classics. Buy it from Amazon now.
Rating: - HILARIOUS, BOTH FUNNY MOVIES
Being a big fan of these movies, raunchy and hilarious. I was recommended watching Porky's, having heard of it but never actually watching it I went and rented it. I laughed so hard!!! It was definetely worth watching, and I'm going to purchase it as well. I was looking for the sequels, and Porky's 3 aka. Porky's Revenge is not in DVD format. Guess it's because it isn't as good.
SEE IT!
Rating: - Shakespeare
Thinking of buying this one? I did because it has a Shakespeare connection. But it is really quite a nice flick.....it's fun to watch the cleverness of the revenge plots, which is really what the Porkys' series is about anyway. However, you can still make a point with this one that it demonstrates that you don't need a mind to love the Bard.
Rating: - Porky's 2 Killed My Cat...
I bought this set because I enjoy the Porky's movie and 2 isn't bad and this was cheaper than buying them invidually. If you get this, don't expect high cinema though. They are stupid funny movies, don't require much though which is good sometimes. These are also the films that seemingly started the whole teen gross out craze.
Anyways, if you watch Porky's 2, do not expose any animals to them because it killed my cat. I don't know how it did it, but it did. Must have been some wierd rays or something because one minute he was playing and next minute gone......
Rating: - STILL FUNNY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS!
I saw these movies back in the 1980's and they were funny then and they're funny now. The scene from pt.1 that gets me every time is when "Miss Ballbreaker" is trying to tell the Principal about Tommy Turner and the girls shower, those coaches in the background laughing hystericaly and the Principal trying to keep a straight face. That scene is nothing short of fall in the floor funny. In pt.2 it's the whole date scene with Wendy when she pretends to be drunk. Bottom line, these movies are classic and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants or needs a good laugh.
