Rating: - What a horrible movie
This movie has the worst story and character development. I hated this movie. It shouldn't have won any awards if you judge it on the basis of quality. It was boring and silly. What a waste of time. This is the movie everyone was going crazy about? It's a Lifetime movie at best.
Rating: - Cowboy movies will never be viewed the same again
I can't tell you how much I love this movie. It's one of those films that will be talked about for years to come. I still hear people talk of this film like it was just released last week or last month. I also think that the cowboy genre will always be viewed differently now, whether for good or ill. Still, it's an important topic that at least got attention, thanks to a great director and a wonderful cast. Ledger will always be known as the lonesome cowboy (may he rest in peace) and Gyllenhaal's soulful eyes can melt even the hardiest and pessimistic souls.
Rating: - Great love story
I keep thinking about the scence after I watched it, it's so touching...I love this movie!
Rating: - ANG LEE, OPUS 9
***** 2005. Directed by Ang Lee and adapted from Annie Proulx's Brokeback Mountain. Three Academy awards, three Golden Globes and Golden Lion of the 2005 Venice Film Festival. True love between two modern cowboys over a period of 20 years. Souvenirs, time, guilt and risk sublimate this relationship. Deserves all the praise it created. Masterpiece.
Rating: - Incredible Story!
I read the short story when it came out and it was one of the most descriptive reads I've ever encountered, to later hear it was on it's way to becoming a film was shocking. I thought how would do they do it and who would see it. The film is one of the best most REALISTIC love stories I've ever seen. Fantastic story and every single actor is top notch in performance, amazing score. The only offensive remark I've heard about the movie are people of lesser intelligence calling it the 'gay cowboy' movie. Myself and the filmmakers sneered at that comment, what does that mean exactly? This film is for intellectuals, smart people, people who also understand love, no one else will get it.
