Rating:  - I Just Love This Movie . . . .
Anyone watching this movie can't help but fall in love with it (I mean who out there doesn't love chocolate or Johnny Depp for that matter).
A must see, you won't be disappointed!

Juliette Binoche, Dame Judith Dench, and the scrumptious Johnny Depp, plus all that luscious chocolat make for a delicious flick. Judi Dench's talent is evident right off....she plays an elderly woman so well that at first I didn't recognize her. The happy ending is MUCH better than the disappointing finish of the novel, with everyone at peace (even the disapproving priest) and the chocolate shop still open in the quaint village. Highly recommend this for a romantic night in this Lent.

I purchased this DVD because Johnny Depp is in it. I am a big fan of his. I like this movie because he sings and plays the guitar in it..which is something we don't get to see him do in other movies. Even in this movie you could see a shadow of things to come in him as "Captain Jack Sparrow"....he is the perfect man to play the pirate parts. He has the look and actions. The movie itself has a pretty good story but I would not have purchased it had Johnny Depp not been in it.

Rating: - yum depp into chocolat
This revised version from the orginial was well casted, directed/produced. I thought a small bit slow in the beginning, yet one can't be too critical of the character/story development. Binoche and Dame Dench have such great charisma on-screen and, if one could say between women, great chemistry and presence with one another. I felt welcomed into her shop as well as I also felt the "chill" in the town until the situation "warmed-up" a bit. I have had a small "thing" for Depp for a while and really enjoyed his character in this movie. I wanted to own the movie because I enjoyed it enough to know I would want to see it again with a great cup of cocoa and my favorite chocolate. Worth buying in my book.
