I haven't had a chance to view it because you can only play it on Blu-ray, which I don't have and didn't know I needed. The details for the product need to be clearer because that was no where in the listing.

I purchased the wrong dvd. I thought by having an upconvert dvd player that this was the correct product. I have since returned and purchased the correct product.

I had forgotten the chessy 70's feel, but the kids enjoyed it. They edited the last sceen where Heston dies and falls over the fountain with a shadow resembeling the Cross. Still a good waste of an hour or so.

Carleton Heston remains in iconic movie figure long after he made his last (truly) great movie. What can one say about this brilliantly talent actor? His chiseled handsome face, his gallant stance, or his extraordinary presence of mind in any emotional role, make up the sum total of great American actors. Like Marlon Brando, James Dean, Heston grew to become as overwhelming in life as his characters in film. In the latter stages of his career, Heston saw great potential in science-fiction as a means to present biting social commentary. Heston's "Planet of the Apes", "Soylent Green", and the "Omega Man" remain sterling examples of the best science fiction films around. In the Omega Man, Heston's "Robert Neville" is the last man on earth. A military scientist, Neville is the creator a vaccine that counters a deadly bacilli weapon that is slowly wiping out humanity. Immune, Neville becomes the last man on earth. Slowly being driven mad by his isolation and the mob of albino mutants outside his fortress home, Neville lives life one day at a time, talking to himself and lamenting the world outside. Then, with an encounter with a group of uninfected survivors, Neville's ambition is restored. He manufactures a vaccine from his own blood and chooses to believe in a better world again. Heston channels all his greatest roles, from Moses to Ben Hur, and makes the restoration of Neville's hope that much more stirring and profound. Anthony Zerbe's performance as the former-news anchor/mad messiah is an amazing piece of dark comedy and high-camp. And the supporting cast are all strong in this excellent movie. In addition, the HD version is a clean and brilliant restoration worthy of this classic.

I bought this as a gift and you need to have a high definition dvd player to watch it. My friend has a high definition tv so I thought this would be great. I was embarrassed when my friend told me that it doesn't work. It doesn't tell you that you need an updated player in the description.They put a piece of paper inside the case that says you might not be able to play it in your normal player. I was very disappointed but I was able to return it and get a regular dvd instead and it was less money.
