Rating: - A Secret Affair
This is my second DVD that I have purchased through Amazon of this movie. I enjoy it so much and have watched it so often (about 150 times) that I was afraid it would wear out.
The story reminded me in many ways of 'my love story' and Paudge Behan just was wonderful. I am a 74 year old widow and this has brought me comfort...to coin the phrase from the movie.
Becomming such a fan of Paudge Behan I also purchased "Uncovered" and "Veronica Guerin" from Amazon which he was also in.
Rating: - One of the best love stories
I just loved this movie. I have always loved the Irish heritage and the leading man in this one is gorgeous. The story line is great and the scenery in Venice and Ireland is beautiful. Janine Turner is one of my favorites and the character she plays finds out being true to who she is is more important than making her family happy at the expense of genuity. Definitely a chic flic though - so guys.... let your wives and girlfriends watch this one while you watch the game :)
Rating: - A Pleasing Endeavor
I found the movies I was looking for. I received a discount. They were mailed to me right away in fact a day earlier then expected. Received what I wanted in fine condition and can sum it all up with saying life should be that easy.
Rating: - Better than the book
Saw the movie on Lifetime and just loved it and wanted to see it again and again... But before I did I read the book. What a disappointment! If you are a romantic, you will truly enjoy this movie. Yes it's a chick-flick! So Gentlemen you have now been warned.
Rating: - I wouldn't bother watching for free...
Where do I start? This was bad on so many levels. First off, the story
was, well, boring. I don't mean because it lacked action - of course it was a
love story which we always enjoy more than any action flick, but this one was just blah. The characters were not likable. We (my wife and I) couldn't empathize with them at all. The acting was mediocre and stiff. The cinematography was amateurish with
lots of harsh back lighting, even during intimate moments that you
would expect to be soft and gentle. The story was entirely and oh so
predictable with, again, amateurish aspects that rendered it entirely
unrealistic, and worst of all was the sound track. The dialog was
difficult to hear and understand to begin with but they overlaid a
CONSTANT musical score that was too loud and mostly out of place and rendered the dialog even more difficult to hear.
I definitely don't recommend it.
