Rating: - I had such a crush
I'm sorry the previous reviewer was disappointed by the series. I was a Wonder Woman freak when I was a kid. I was in love with Lynda Carter.
When I was young I had a poster of Diana Prince hanging on my wall. My parents left me with a babysitter for the night. I was three and was scared to turn the lights off because my dad was not there. Gretchen Scheide (I still love you ;) told me that I was safe. If there was any trouble, Diana Prince would turn into Wonder Woman and save me.
My mother said I was not scared of the dark from that point forward. =-) Embarrassing but true.
See the show for what it was intended. Some nostalgia is a good thing when you live 3000 miles from home. I am stoked that these are on DVD and I can pop one in once in a while and get a little bit of that kid back. I think he has been missing for too long.
Rating: - cartoons acted by real people
This series of videos is based on the print media comic series from about 65 years ago which was intended for an audience of grammar school girls to give them a role model. As is usual in such cartoons, the laws of physics are broken on a frequent basis. The military aspects are also unreal with senior officers performing tasks done by privates. The television program was also aimed at the intellectual level of a ten year old with simplified plots and dialog. So to enjoy the program you will have to turn off your disbelief and also not get insulted by the very low intellectual quality of the program. In the interview Linda says that she was wearing special underwear to maker her larger on top. She frequently comments on how hansom the men were and how wonderful her clothes were.
It is claimed that this is the first TV program to have women with talent. Whoever came up with this claim must not know of The Avengers, The Protectors, The Prisoner, or Honey West to name a few.
