Rating: - Human Spirit is strong
Out of all the recommended christian programing this is one of the best. It was well acted and not phony like most christian shows. This did not have graphic violence. I highly recommend this program for all viewers not just christians.
Rating: - The Hiding Place CD
Service was excellent. The movie is one of my favorites. However, it is a cheap copy at best. It is supposed to be brand new, came sealed as such, but it has skips in it.
Rating: - Inspirational
This story of a Dutch watchmaker's family hiding Jews and others from the Nazi occupiers of their country is a most inspiring portrayal of practical faith. It led the family to concentration camp and death. The hope and faith the sisters showed when suffering in prisom camp is a fine testimony to God keeping those who trust Him, both in death and in life. Watch it and be encouraged. One slight cricism. It did not seem clear on what happened to those in the hiding place when the Germans imprisoned the family.
Rating: - Very Good
This video is a wonderful portrayal of the compassion and selflessness that we should all have for those in need.
Rating: - Heart-wrenching, yet inspirational
This movie shows the faith of a family of Christians, who were transformed from ordinary citizens: an elderly watchmaker and two middle-aged spinsters, to courageous heroes. Corrie Ten Boom, her father, and her sister were law-abiding Christians before Hitler took over the Netherlands. As the horrors of the Nazi occupation mounted, the family made a moral choice to follow God's laws and to protect and hide the Jews that were being rounded up. Living by faith, and depending on God's protection, they were able to save the lives of the Jewish people hiding in their home, even though they were betrayed by a Dutch informer and imprisoned. What follows is a nightmare where the family is separated and then the two sisters are sent to a Nazi concentration camp. Without giving away too much of the story, we see that God's hand is upholding them even throughout the worst miseries. Corrie's sister Betsie is very frail physically, but a giant in faith. She helps Corrie by encouraging her and giving her spiritual strength, while Corrie helps her sister to endure the harsh camp surroundings. Both are indeed "set free" before the New Year's, and Corrie carries her family's legacies on to tell the world that there is no pit so deep that God's hand is not there to uphold you (Betsie's quote that keeps Corrie going).
Watch the movie, read the book. You will be enriched and encouraged what God can do through those who live by faith.
