Rating: - We didn't need this stinker on Blu-ray
The first half of this movie is very good hard sci-fi. At midpoint though it takes an inexplicable turn. The 2nd half of the script/plot seems to be completely unfamiliar with the 1st half, as if they switched writers and revised the storyboard mid-stream. The 2nd half is worthy of the Cinematic Titanic treatment if they ever run out of material. I like sci-fi. I didn't like Event Horizon.
Rating: - Great freaky movie!
I hadnt seen this movie in years, got an itch to watch it, and none of the stores in my area had it, so off to Amazon!
Great deal here folks, 2 disc, $10! If ya remember this movie and like it, buy it... if you've never seen it and enjoy sci-fi movies, action movies, or horror movies, then get it! Very creepy/scary/great!
Rating: - Thriller of an event.
Event Horizon is a tightly constructed science fiction movie. It doesn't have all of the star power one would want or all the special effects, but it has a tight almost seamless storyline. The story is what propels this movie - it doesn't lack for thrills or action where it is required. This one is for all fans of great movie science fiction.
Rating: - An overlooked sci-fi thrill-ride!
In the far future, somewhere in space a rescue squad (Lawrence Fishburne, Sam Neil, Joely Richardson, Katleen Quinland, Sean Pertwee, Richard T. Jones, and Jack Noseworthy) investigates a much 7-year old abandoned spacecraft called "Event Horizon", they discover that the spaceship was used to open up a portal to a terrifying hellish dimension that curses the ship that brings an unspeakable horror.
An excellent mix of Sci-fi and supernatural horror mix up in this electrifying film that has elements of H.P. Lovecraft. The film incorporates the idea of using the old haunted house movie cliches up with futuristic themes to it, thus Paul WS Anderson has conjured up an imaginative and disturbing shocker that still has and to this day a cult following. It succeeds in giving us a gothic and atmospheric yet gory as hell movie that does something different in the Sci-fi horror genre.
This 2-Disc DVD set has excellent picture and quality sound with great extras like audio commentary, a five-part documentary on the making of this cult classic, "The Point of No Return" Featurette, Trailers, Deleted scene and secrets with optinonal commentary.

Rating: - Great movie. But why isn't this being released on Blu-Ray??
The title says it all. This is one of the best Sci-Fi/Horror flicks ever. So why then is this version being released instead of Blu-Ray???
