Rating:  - Perfectly Perfect Family
Leave it to Beaver is terrific family TV from way back when. My kids (ten and eleven years) love watching them and my husband and I like the nostalgia, and get a load of Mrs. Cleaver's helmet hair!
What a funny little glimpse of the way we were supposed to believe life existed, dad always wore a suit to dinner, mom's waist was 23 inches and she was always wearing a dress cinched with a belt, Wally and the Beav's room was immaculate, well for that matter the whole house.
Rating: - filthiest line of any 50's TV show?
What can I say....?
I love this show! It's one of those things though--if you didn't live while this show was 'on' originally, you probably think it isn't very good [to put that mildly--ew, the language I've heard!]. But, anyway--"Leave it to Beaver" is a great slice 'o life in the lives of a very typical 50's family...almost "Seinfeldesque" before there was a Seinfeld! Although nothing ever [really] happens, the situations that Beaver gets into are funny to me--Why? Because they happened to me when I was about his age...Ah,the age of innocence...what ever happened to it?
I reckon I'm officially a geezer as of now! Thanks for listening.
Rating: - Waiting to buy Season 3 !!!
Our children 10 and 13 (and both of their parents!) love Leave it to Beaver seasons 1 and 2, and have worn them out. We are based in Asia, but love the good old American shows I grew up with circa 1960s.
Where are Seasons 3, 4, and 5 ??? We promote these DVDs among our other English-speaking friends who would gladly buy them if someone would sell them!

[[ASIN:B000EGDANO Leave It to Beaver - The Complete Second Season.The show is so well acted.The episodes are funny but some bring tears to my eyes.I have been a fan since my childhood and now I am even more devoted.I enjoyed the episode most where Wally and Beaver go on there bus trip.Beavers experience with a taxi driver paying the fare and a tip reminded me of my first trip to the U.S.A.only I was 21yrs old.Absolutely love the show.
Rating: - They switched networks after Series Two
The show originally switched to a new network after the second series back in the 50's. That's why there's a huge delay between the second and third series releases today. It's due to present corporate ownership rights so there's another pile of red tape that has to be sifted through to get the rest of the LITB series out there. Universal/GE owns the first two but not the rest.
I'm confident that the present owner (CBS?) will release them one of these days. If you make it, they will buy.
