Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Adventures of the Gummi Bears, Vol. 1 - Seasons 1-3
I used to watch the gummi bears when I was younger and to be able to share a really nice Disney show that I grew up with my kids is great. The fact that you get 3 seasons in a little set is also great. Very good quality picture considering it is from the 80's. I have been waiting for years for Disney to put these out, no fan fair like they give there movie releases but I am happy. Nice hearing my kids singing the theme song.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I love the Gummi's!
Just as I remembered them when I watched the Gummi Bears as a kid. I'm so glad they came out on DVD. The bears all have a different personalities. I can watch this over and over!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Ahhh....relive those wonderful memories once more
I used to watch Gummy bears a long time back and I can still remember the catchy tune, the memoriable characters and wonderful script. I bought this set once I realised that it was out and I'm happy to say that I'm not disappointed. My daughter and son, aged 5 and 1.8 respectively enjoy it as much as I do. Grape juice is now a favourite drink for them, not to mention the singing and bouncing!

Apart from the Gummys, one of the most amusing characters is Toady-Igthorns faithful little ogre. He gets bullied and verbally abused endlessly by his bigger colleagues and boss, but still remains loyal throughout. I always have a good laugh with his witty lines.

This set is extremely value for money. 3 seasons for under $30! I would have paid the same amount just for 1 season. Can't wait for the next 3 seasons.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Gummi's are a wonderful addition
This was purchased as a birthday gift for my daughter in her early twenties, who loved to watch the Gummi's when she was a little girl. This is a wonderful addition to her DVD collection. I hope they continue to bring out the rest of them. These are so great, kids in the present day have no idea what good cartoons are and now that they are available on DVD we can share them with this younger generation. I'm all for bringing back good wholesome TV!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Good set but misleading description
Gummi Bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere. High adventure that's beyond compare.

So says the theme song, and its mostly accurate. For children in the 1980s, the only adventure-fantasy cartoons that compared were Filmation's He-Man and She-Ra and Disney's Ducktales. As an adult, the only thing I fault with Gummi Bears is how cloyingly saccharine it can be. But its Disney and its made for kids, so hey, what did I expect?

What I wanted to discuss was the misleading statements on the box.

Right on the front cover, the set announces that it contains "47 episodes!" and that it covers "the complete first three seasons!"

Well, no, not quite.

Here's the problem: Many of the episodes are ten-minute stories, and often two episodes would play during a single thirty-minute block. So while the box does indeed contain 47 episodes, it does NOT contain three full seasons. Rather, it contains the first season and maybe half the second, just like the Ducktales and Rescue Rangers sets.

I'm not accusing Disney of false advertising. Rather they just suffered a bit of confusion due to their own terminology. This isn't some big massive mega-set, its just a normal volume release.

And no, there is nothing wrong with that.
