Alex Rider - Operation Stormbreaker will make you think the same folks that did the Bond movies were involved. Very professional and very impressive. I was surprised at the quality of everything. The casting is excellent with Alex Pettyfer, Ewan McGregor, Damian Lewis, Alicia Silverstone, Mickey Rourke, Bill Nighy and the rest. The acting, directing, story, special effects, stunts, sets, and music are all first rate. I would have liked a music theme something like the Bond movies rather than a lot of loud rock, but that did not ruin the overall feel. Although geared towards teens, this is a movie the whole family can enjoy. A couple people are killed, but we don't see it on camera and there isn't any gore. I don't want to compare this to other teen or kid spy movies as most of them although fun are not action packed with great stunt work. I sure hope they put out a sequel as there are far to few of this kind of quality family movie. If I had any complaints, it is Rourke needs a better makeup job. Whomever put the eye shadow on him should not be in makeup. Great quality DVD with plenty of replayability. If you enjoyed this catch the TV series "Veritas" if you can find it.

Rating: - WE LOVE ALEX RIDER!!!!
Our entire family reads the Alex Rider books. My mom is always worried about how he is going to get out of each situation.
The movie was fun, but I wish it had just stuck closer to the book and story line.
Anyway, we are looking forward to the next movie and of course next book!!!
Rating: - Fantastic Film
What a great movie, I have no idea what is was not bigger. Its as good as any James Bond film and its far better than the Cody Banks films.

I cannot understand why film distributors gave this excellent family action film such poor exposure in cinemas worldwide. I saw 'Stormbreaker' in my local multiplex and immediately told two friends how much I had enjoyed it, returning with them to see it again the next day. We three septuagenarians (two of us retired high school teachers) agreed that it was the best action movie for young people in a very long time, and that it also had the rare quality of being thoroughly enjoyable to adults. We also greatly enjoyed the many aerial and ground level views of London, a city familiar to all three of us. Alex Pettyfer, whom we had previously seen in 'Tom Brown's Schooldays', acquits himself very well indeed, and the humorous overtones of the 'Batman' grotesques and the reactions of the cartoon characters on the background TV screens during violent action sequences will reassure those youngsters who might otherwise take them too seriously. I have enjoyed the Harry Potter films, but I consider this adaptation by the author of the original Alex Rider book series to be very much more suitable for family viewing. As the DVD had not then been released in Australia, I imported the UK version and lent it to a young friend who works with me in a heritage cinema staffed by volunteers. He loved it, paying it the compliment of making it the subject of his next school essay. 'Stormbreaker' stands head and shoulders above the American pap passing for humorous childrens' movies which crosses our screen during school holidays. Buy the DVD and watch it often with your friends.
Rating: - a good movie for kids!
Our grandchildren really enjoyed this video, even though it is not a new one...we purchased it to take to a beach vacation, and a tropical storm kept us indoors for a day, so it was great to have something to entertain them. The action is exciting and the special effects are thrilling. It is refreshing to have a movie with patriotic characters who don't have to use profanity constantly. I would recommend it for 8-14 year olds, but we "old folks" watched it too!
