Rating:  - Great movie on mental illness
I received this movie very quickly. It was in new condition without flaw. I was completely satisfied.
Rating:  - Save Your Money and Your Time
The only thing in the movie that was good was the young boy in the movie has acting talent. The story was horrible, unreal, unreasonable, and just plan not believable. The sad thing is the nature of the mother's illness and its "realistic" impact on a family could have been a good dramatic story. This story was just so unreal.

One of our close relatives suffered from schizophrenia for over 14 years. So, this was recommended by our doctor, and I saw it. Very nice. I have following specific comments:
1. Focus on the subject, i.e. schizophrenia, and the typical behaviours - Kind of light - So, 3/10.
2. Focus on emotional impact to the kith and kin of a typical patient -8/10.
3. Cinematography - 8/10
4. Focus on the hobbies/passion of a typical patient's Kith and Kin - 8/10 - However, not necessary, right? - but I guess the movie would become too incredibly heavy emotionally on the viewers otherwise - So, I guess it is OK.
5. A movie that is badly needed to be made for the welfare of the society- An absolute YES - 10/10 - I appreciate the audacity of the movie creators.
6. Overall - Needed to be watched - 9/10
My Personal story and recommendation to this World: To get my close relative out of schizophrenia, we went through enormous pain and sufferings. We were willing to travel any distance and try anything. We tried many doctors, and many drugs. There was improvement, but the problem could not be solved. However, upon recommendations of a few spiritual leaders from India - Out of desperation, and not out of choice - Visited a temple called "Prasanna Venkatachalapathy Temple' in a city called Kunaseelam, near a city called Trichy, in Tamil Nadu, India. We LEARNED from others That god is EXTREMELY POWERFUL AND FAMOUS for treatment of mental disorders. The god holds a `magic stick' in his hand. Upon our visit, the patient had a major recovery almost instantly, and RECOVERED fully in less than 3 days, and it has been close to 2 years now without relapse. So, I am sooooo thankful to god. However, I would like to put all kinds of disclaimers on this and I am not guaranteeing anything to anyone. You try your luck. If you were like me, and if you were at a state in which you are willing to try anything that can remotely offer a possible solution, you may find this comment useful. I know I was so thankful to the person who recommended it to me, because that changed my life. So, this is more of a thank you to god, and more of a help to others with similar situation than anything else. Once again, I am putting all kinds of disclaimers on this, and I am not responsible for anything that happens to you or your family in your experience. I am just trying to be a well wisher. Hope you can appreciate my candidness and reservation in this unfortunately frivolous litigation prone society.

I think this is a movie that needed to be made. The subject matter is one that does not get the attention that it should. The problem with the movie was that it was SO SLOW - it took a long time to get "into" it. I would encourage anyone that has a loved one with a mental illness to watch this as it does portray accurately the family dynamics in this kind of situation. The cast was superb!
Rating: - Accuracy with a heart
Never heard of this movie, but saw it on TV. What a sleeper this one must have been at the box office that I missed it. I'm a psych nurse and this has the honesty of the heart-wrenching struggles with psychophrenia that touches an entire family, and the sensitivity that protects the dignity of the victim(s) of this illness. It is beautifully and empathically developed and touchingly performed. Kudos to whomever did the screenplay. Genius.
